Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how iOwnIQ ("iOwnIQ," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the iOwnIQ mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Who We Are

iOwnIQ is a home inventory and asset-tracking application that helps you catalog belongings, store receipts, track warranties, and generate insurance-ready reports. iOwnIQ has no AI features — your data is not processed by, or used to train, any machine learning model.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly: account information (your email address, and if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and profile photo those providers share with us); inventory data (property names and addresses, room names, and item details you enter — name, category, brand, model, serial number, purchase price, purchase date, warranty expiration date, and notes); photos and documents (photos of your items and receipts that you choose to upload); support communications.

Information collected automatically: subscription and billing status, provided to us by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat — we do not receive or store your full payment card number or banking details; basic technical data (device type, operating system version, app version) used only for crash diagnostics and compatibility.

Information we do not collect: precise real-time location, browsing history outside the App, contacts, or microphone/audio data. iOwnIQ contains no third-party advertising SDKs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to provide the App's core functionality, authenticate you and keep your account secure, process and manage your subscription, respond to support requests, and maintain the reliability of the App. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos or inventory data to train AI models, for advertising, or for any purpose beyond providing the App to you.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in keeping the App secure and reliable, and your consent where required.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your inventory data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security enabled at the database level, so only your authenticated account can read or write your own data. Photos and receipts are stored in private cloud storage, never publicly accessible, and reached only through short-lived signed URLs. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect information transferred internationally.

8. Data Retention

We retain your inventory data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your properties, rooms, items, and associated photos/receipts, except where retention is required by law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, object to or restrict processing of, or withdraw consent regarding your personal information. Most of these are available directly in the App (Settings → Account Settings, Settings → Delete Account), or by contacting us below.

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA may give you additional rights, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA.

11. Children's Privacy

iOwnIQ is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Automated Decision-Making

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email, and will update the "Last updated" date above.
